The Sixth Annual Zach D’ Souza Smiles4Miles 4v4 Soccer Tournament was a great success! Thanks to all who participated and supported this great cause.

This year, 107 teams competed in a total of 193 games with the participation of over 600 players of all ages and abilities, supported by the hard work of dozens of volunteer referees, field marshals, runners, registrars, etc.

A total of $38,000 was collected, bringing the amount raised over the past six years by Smiles4Miles to $240,000. It seemed like the whole community was out there to enjoy the occasion, and miraculously the sun shone on Zach’s Day yet again.

The event was kicked off by Tecumseh Mayor Gary McNamara, Deputy Mayor Joe Bachetti and Ward 2 Councillor Mike Rohrer, who tested their shooting ability against the goalkeeping prowess of Miss Canada Galaxy, Jillian Parent.
