Zachary D’Souza was 17 ½ years old when he died at home, peacefully, November 2, 2010. He valiantly battled Hodgkin’s Lymphoma for 2 ½ years before he succumbed to the disease. Paediatric patients diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma have an almost 98% survival rate – unfortunately, that was not the case for Zach; all the more reason for us to support the important work that childhood cancer researchers are conducting at The Hospital for Sick Children.
Zachary was an impressive student and athlete. He continued to compete at a highly competitive level in both of his favourite sports: hockey and soccer – even while on treatment. The Zachary D’Souza Smiles4Miles 4 v 4 Soccer Tournament was created to help us remember and celebrate the qualities that Zach was famous for – smiles from the heart, a competitive spirit, team work, friendship and the pursuit of excellence.
The 6th Annual Zach D’Souza 4v4 Soccer Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 7th, 2016 at L’Essor High School and the Tecumseh Soccer Fields from 9:00- 4:00. Please join us !!
